As much as we may hate to think so, especially for the most confident entrepreneurs, there is a time and a place for almost everybody where passing on a business to someone else can be the best thing for it.
There's no question that all entrepreneurs - and in fact all who want to be successful - need to surround themselves with talented people who can bring skill and experience to a team. However, taking this one step further is a much bigger deal. For an entrepreneur to acknowledge that their business has reached a size, complexity, or just a point in its development where someone else can do a better job of realising its potential takes real vision.
For those entrepreneurs that can embrace this - and crucially find the right person to take on their ‘baby’ - the rewards can be enormous, both in financial terms as the business will grow bigger and faster, but also in freeing up time for the entrepreneur to search out new ideas and think of the next big thing. That's what entrepreneurs do best - they create.
